link
Diarrhea is a common illness happening in babies and kids. Babies and toddlers are more prone to this since their immune system is still building. So it is best to maintain hygiene and take care of them more.

When babies are teething they develop a hormone which cause loose motion in them. But bacterias and allergies can cause diarrhea as well. It is essential to feed them lots of water during this time since they can easily get dehydrated.

So below are few tested method for loose motion.

1)Sabudana / Sago / Javvarisi
link
This is one of the most effective way to stop loose motion. Even for adults this works. I have tried it so many times and it is very effective.

Recipe:

Soak sago in water for 30 mins. Now add more water and boil till it is soft. You can cook for 1 whistle in pressure cooker. You can add sugar to it and consume. For babies, strain it and give the liquid alone. For toddlers and kids you can feed it as it is. Feed this every 3 to 4 hours and it will stop loose motion.

2)Potatoes

Normally starchy ingredients are good for loose motion. Boiled potatoes can be given, for babies mash it and give.

3)Tender Coconut Water

Babies and kids can dehydrate easily so make sure you give them lots of water during this time.

4)Pomegranate Juice

Babies and kids can dehydrate easily so make sure you give them lots of water during this time.

5)Water

Babies and kids can dehydrate easily so make sure you give them lots of water during this time.

Recipe:

Water - 1 liter (boiled and cooled)
Sugar - 6 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp

Mix this up and feed every 2 hours.

7)Bananas
Bananas are great for loose motion. You can steam some bananas and mash it well and feed to babies. For kids they can eat as it is. It is rich in nutrients and adds energy too.

8)Rice Porridge (Kanji)

Boil rice till it is done and mash it well to a paste and feed babies. For kids you can feed it as rice porridge along with the cooking water without mashing it.

Baby Poop - What's Normal & What's Not

6:27 AM 0

source here
I know it is a gross topic. But it is the most important topic which every parent specially mom should have known before having a baby or if you are a new mom.

Poop Frequency:

A new born baby untill 4 to 5 weeks will poop after each feed or like 6 to 10 times daily. They will be contantly pooping atleast a little and you will be constantly changing diapers every few mins. WELCOME TO MOTHERHOOD!

After 6 weeks or so the pooping frequency will slowly subside. They will be doing it every few hours.

Some babies even poop every other day or every 2 to 3 days. As long as your baby is happy and her tummy looks soft. There is no issues.

New Born Poop:

You will be seeing a Greenish - Blackish Sticky poop untill 3 to 5 days which will disappear as days pass. This is called as Meconium, it occurs in every new born baby during the first few days. It will slowly subside the colour will get much lighter as days pass.

Normal Breast Fed Baby Poop:

A healthy breast fed babies poop is bright yellow or mild yellow, slightly greenish yellow in colour. The poop looks little slimy and grainy. They poop pretty often.

Formula Fed Baby Poop:

The Poop looks more pasty and little brown coloured. It is more smelly than a breast fed baby.

Iron Poop:

If you give your baby iron supplement, then your babies poop is dark green and almost black in colour. If you are seeing black poop when you are not giving iron supplements, then you must contact your doctor.

Solid Poop:

After you start solids in babies, like ragi, banana and other things. Their poop would be much darker and smellier.

Mucus Poop:

If your babies poop looks very slimy with mucus in it. This is because of some allergy in it. Also if your baby has cold or cough and is taking medicines for that, it can also result in slimy poop.

Constipation poop:

You can easily identify this, your baby will be crying during pooping or she will be feeling very uncomfortable while pooping. The poop will be more harder. You have to immediately seek attention to cure constipation in babies because it can be painful.

Check this How to cure constipation in babies

Diarrhea Poop:

It will be very watery and more of water than solids. It will often explode out of diaper. Take her to doctor immediately.

What to worry:

Bright Red Poop: it is very critical and call your doctor immediately.
Blackish Blood Poop: it is because of digested blood. Consult your doctor immediately.
Chalky Pale Poop: It is because of liver or Bladder failure.

How to Bath a Baby - How to Bath a Newborn - Bathing a Baby

9:37 PM 0
SOURCE https://www.babycenter.in/a37/bathing-your-baby
Bathing a baby can be a stressful task for many of us specially new moms. Unlike toddlers bathing a baby is little difficult and we have to be very careful. There are certain things which we have to keep in mind. I will try to cover most of the things which i do when i bathe my little one.

1)First lets start with oil massage for baby. Spread a baby mat. I use olive oil for babies skin and normal coconut oil for her hair. The products which i use is given below. I take some coconut oil and apply it all over her hair and give a gentle massage. Then i take a good amount of olive oil and apply it all over her body. I give gentle massage. Check this video for massaging baby. After massaging leave the baby in the mat for 10 mins while to get ready with the other things.

2)Prepare the changing station. The changing station can be your bed or wherever you are comfortable.

a)Spread a clean dry towel in the bed. You need another towel which you carry on your shoulder when you are bathing your baby. You need that to wrap her up.
b)Take all your baby lotion or whatever cream you use for your baby. I prefer either himalaya baby lotion or baby dove lotion. If you use powder then go for that. Personally i dont use powder for both my kids.
c)Take your babies cloth and diaper.
d)If you are going to give any vitamin drops, place it as well.

3)Now prepare the water for bathing your baby. Normally babies body is warm, so cold water may shock them. So use warm water to bathe your baby. Use luke warm water. In summer times the water itself will be warm, so you can use normal cold water for bathing babies above 5 to 6 months.

4)You can take your bath tub or whatever you prefer ready. My mom puts mahi in her legs and bathe her, this is how it is done old times. But i prefer this sling to bath baby, i found this to be very helpful.

5)Now bring the baby and place her in the sling. Take a wash cloth, i use gerber brand (link given below). Apply some baby bath over it and gently massage it over your baby and pour water gently and bathe her. First i completely bath her body. The i take some baby shampoo on my hands and apply it on her gently and take some water on my hands and wipe the shampoo first. Then i use a small cup to pour the water over her head, make sure the water doesn't fall on her face. Once the shampoo is removed from her hair, i wash her face with little baby wash and use my hands to wipe it off.

6)Now i wrap her up in towel and i dry her hair very lightly with a towel. I dont dry her hair so much, because leaving some wetness in your babies hair will build their immune. When they grow up they won't catch fever easily when they go in rain.

7)Now bring her to bed, remove the wet towel and place her in fresh towel and apply lotion or powder as you wish. Give vitamin drops and change her to new clothes.

Hope you found this post to be useful. Will see you soon with another post, till then I will leave you with a picture of maha & mahi

Love at First Sight - My Second Delivery Story

4:19 AM 7

March 18, 2017. I delivered a beautiful girl baby. One more precious addition to our family. My second labour is a planned one, since i had a c - section for maha, doctors told that i have only 10% chance for normal delivery. So i told them to do a c - section for this baby too.

Check whats in my hospital bag

I was asked to admit in the hospital on march 17th evening around 6.00 PM.So we packed everything up and was admitted in the hospital. They told me that the delivery will be next day around 12.00 PM. Nextday morning i went into the labour ward around 10.00 PM. I was given few bottles of glucose and few random injection. I found this labour a little hard, since my tummy was really huge because of the second baby and i have lots of water content settled on my tummy through out this pregnancy. I had lots of itching on the tummy area and it was all swollen and red. So doctors were pretty concerned regarding that and told me that the after delivery pain will be more. That made me more scared. But i kept on praying to make this delivery less painful.

On my first delivery i felt no pain when they gave me a injection on the back bone. So i was pretty cool when they asked me to lie down to put injection. But i am telling you it was pretty hard, the pain was so horrible. I almost shouted. Since i gained lots of weight on my tummy area they found it hard to find the back bone. So they made me bent down to put the injection. OMG it was so painful. But after that they made me lie down and started the delivery.

Check my first delivery story here

Around 12.21 PM - March 18, 2017 my little one entered into this world.

I wanted to have a girl baby this time too, everyone wanted me to have a boy but i wanted to have a girl baby so badly, I wanted maha to have the same company as me, since i have 2 sisters and it is such a blessing.

Doctors took few minutes to show the little one to me and i was so impatient. When they showed me my precious child, IT WAS A GIRL, i gave her my first kiss and was literally in tears. She looked exactly like maha. I was so happy. The nurse asked me "is your first child a boy" I said " No, its a girl". They were pretty amused seeing my expression. I was waiting to meet hubby since i know that he would be excited as me.

This we had the stem cells collected. We did it through Life cell. Even though some people don't believe in that. We thought prevention is better than cure. So we collected the stem cells for this baby, since we can use it for her sibling as well.

I was given all the medicine and was sent to the room. I was eagerly waiting to see my hubby and my little maha's reaction. After few minutes he came will full smile. He was like so excited, and told me "She looks exactly like Maha and I am so happy, can wait to bring you and her home." I asked him how was maha's reaction, he told that she is keeping on asking "where is mama". And i felt so sad for her.

That night was horrible to me, i was in so much pain. Somehow i managed to get a good night sleep and when i woke up it was morning 7.00 AM (March 19th). The pain was horrible and i couldn't even get up. After so much struggle i got up, They gave my whole body a quick wipe and i changed my clothes. But i was so eager to go to the room to meet everyone specially maha. They finally took me to the room at 10.00 AM(March 19th)

Maha was jumping in joy seeing me. I cried so much and gave a good tight hug and kiss. She told me " mama, look! look! look at the little baby, she is so soft, her hands and legs are so little mama, i want to kiss her, hug her, i will take care of her mama. You don't worry mama" and she went and went on. Immediately she went and gave a tight hug, and there she starts crying..

I WAS LIKE OH GOD, NOW I HAVE TO SAVE THIS POOR CHILD FROM THIS NAUGHTY LITTLE MONKEY 😠😓😂
